At the Ocho Rios branch, Professor Burnett’s first stop on his tour -- which also took him to Sav-La-Mar Duke Street and Negril branches -- the surgeon’s efforts were complimented by those of Ocho Rios Branch Manager Prince Myers and NCB Insurance Advisor, Andrea Moncriffe, who ensured that customers were aware of the doctor’s visit and the benefits of owning a NCBIC ProCare policy.
“ProCare represents the opportunity to put families at ease, if ever their loved ones should fall prey to a critical illness,” Moncriffe said, while Myers outlined the importance of having in-branch activities of this nature.
“It’s important for us (NCB) to give back to the community as good corporate citizens. Anyone who has ever experienced caring for a loved one during a critical illness can attest to how difficult and costly it can be,” Myers said.
“I know, first hand, that seeing a consultant can be quite expensive and today, through NCB Insurance ProCare Men’s Health Week, our customers are not only able to get free advice, but get it from a world-class urologist,” he added.
NCBIC ProCare Men’s Health Week continues for the remainder of this week with Professor Burnett visiting the Half-Way-Tree, St. Jago and St. James Street branches on Friday. Kiosks were also set up at the NCB Knutsford Boulevard, Mandeville and Matilda's Corner branches, which were manned by other medical experts who are members of the Jamaica Urological Society.
The week’s activities culminate on Saturday, February 1, 2014, with a Men’s Health Cocktail Forum at Devon House in Kingston from 5:00pm – 9:00pm. Guests will hear from a series of presenters and prostate cancer survivors -including Professor Burnett and Dr. Morrison, who will also address the issue of sexuality after prostate cancer among other matters.
